What is going on in downtown Tempe? Which hotels are open? What is the city doing to help Tempe businesses and how can I support the businesses in my neighborhood?

Get these and other answers from Tempe's business organizations at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4 in a virtual community roundtable moderated by Councilmember Robin Arredondo-Savage.

“Businesses are the heartbeat of Tempe. They are vital to keeping our community healthy,” Councilmember Arredondo-Savage said. “We want to hear their struggles and concerns and how we can best help them right now.”

The Downtown Tempe Authority, Tempe Chamber of Commerce, Tempe Tourism Office, Local First Arizona, RAIL and Tempe Economic Development will talk about the current business environment in Tempe, specific challenges businesses face, programs and services available and forthcoming opportunities for help and assistance.

Since March, Tempe's business organizations have regularly met to find ways to help the business community during the COVID-19 crisis, resulting in programs such as the Buy Now. Save Local program, the Small Business Emergency Loan programs and others.

There will be opportunities for questions from the business community. People can email their questions in advance to timothy_gomez@tempe.gov or use the Q&A feature during the webinar. Not all questions may be answered during the webinar due to time constraints.
