2024-2025 Season
Join us the 2nd Sunday in November, January, February and April from 10 AM to 3 PM for an outdoor market, live music and entertainment, snack vendors, and plenty of fun for the whole family presented this season by Lifetime Home Remodeling. The outdoor market lines Mill Avenue between 3rd St. and University, and features homemade goods and gifts from Arizona local artisans, crafters, and makers. The event is FREE admission, family-friendly, and dog friendly.

Mill Avenue is going green for 2nd Sundays! Explore an outdoor market with handcrafted goods from 100+ makers, a talented kids' market featuring young creators ages 5-17, live music, and hands-on fun. Get creative with make-and-take crafts, grab tasty bites from local vendors, and check out earth-friendly activations throughout the streets. Shop small, support sustainability, and enjoy a day out in Downtown Tempe with these fun things to do:

  • Shop upcycled clothing from Buffalo Exchange.
  • Reusable Shopping Bag Giveaway: Make two purchases while at the event (at a market vendor, snack or drink vendor and/or a downtown merchant) and bring your receipts to the Info Booth for a free reusable shopping bag! *while supplies last.
  • See the roaming butterfly stilt walkers from Rave Circus.
  • Pot your own plant in a mini terracotta pot at The Plant Mill!
  • Check out what Open Streets Tempe has to offer.
  • Live BMX stunt performances every hour from Stuntmasters INC.

  • Design a one-of-a-kind notebook cover using cut paper collage while exploring ways to repurpose and reuse materials with the Tempe Community Arts team
  • Join in the effort to beautify Downtown Tempe with artist Danielle Foushée. From 10:30am - 12:00pm, you can help decorate the chain link fence in Flower Power Park (located on the Southeast side of 7th Street & Mill Ave) to create an inspiring message celebrating Earth Day. All ages are welcome! 
    • VOLUNTEER WITH US! Community members of all ages are invited to help install this new public artwork!
  • Learn more about transportation and sustainability with the City of Tempe’s Sustainability & Resilience Division and the first 100 attendees will receive a bag of local produce!
  • Kiddos can build an entire city out of recyclables at Upcycled City!

A program of Tempe Bicycle Action Group

A free, family-friendly event where for one day, the downtown streets will temporarily close and transform into vibrant public spaces where you can walk, bike, roll, dance, and connect with your community. Without the usual traffic, we will be able to see how much is possible when we prioritize people over cars—creating spaces that bring us closer together. This free event have bike programming like a custom bike show, live art, music and entertainment, yoga and dance floors and so much more!


We encourage everyone to ditch the car for a day and ride in to take in this one-of-a-kind experience in Downtown Tempe!

The Downtown Tempe Barber Battle CONTINUES in a high-energy, bracket-style competition where local barbers go head-to-head in 2 categories: Fast Fade (starts at 12:30) and Freestyle (starts at 1:30)! This exciting showdown will be showcased at each 2nd Sundays on Mill, located on Mill Ave & 6th Street, leading up to the Semifinals and Finals at the 2025 Juneteenth Block Party. 

  • Match Rounds: November 10 & January 12
  • Quarterfinals: February 9 & April 13
  • Semifinals & Finals: Juneteenth Block Party on June 14, 2025

On the same street, you will also find the ladies of 40 Plus Double Dutch Club jumpin' and vibin' to live mixes from a Furious Styles DJ! They will be showing off their skills, as well as, teaching you how to double dutch!
