2024-2025 Season
Join us the 2nd Sunday in November, January, February and April from 10 AM to 3 PM for an outdoor market, live music and entertainment, snack vendors, and plenty of fun for the whole family presented this season by Lifetime Home Remodeling. The outdoor market lines Mill Avenue between 3rd St. and University, and features homemade goods and gifts from Arizona local artisans, crafters, and makers. The event is FREE admission, family-friendly, and dog friendly.

We are bringing NOLA to Mill Avenue this 2nd Sundays! Let the good times roll at this Mardi Gras-themed outdoor market! While you shop, you can expect a lively day full of music, entertainment, and unique experiences that capture the spirit of Mardi Gras!

  • Bad Cactus Brass Band will be performing at 5th St. and roaming through the event

Head to Fat Tuesday's for a taste of New Orleans! They're serving up fresh, warm beignets, seasonal Mardi Gras Mash daiquiris, and drink specials on Hurricanes and Louisiana’s own Abita Purple Haze beer. Enjoy the sounds of Zydeco music, catch some beads, and grab a festive mask giveaway (*while supplies last).


HOW TO PLAY:

  • Search Downtown Tempe along Mill Avenue (3rd Street to 7th Street) to find 10 mini King Cake Babies hidden in plain sight—no digging or moving required. Note: No babies are hidden inside businesses!
  • Stop by the Info Booth before 2:00 PM to turn in your findings for a prize and to be put into a raffle for the grand prize of a $200 Fat Tuesday gift card!
  • At 2:00 PM, the grand prize winner will be drawn and the winner will be contacted.

Start your hunt and let the good times roll!



Stop by one of the snack and drink vendors that be be there! Britt's Cafecito Y Chisme will be serving up specialty cafecitos and you can serve up the chisme...drop a piece of your hometown gossip into their gossip box for a chance for it to be featured on their IG! Anonymously of course 🤭 The Thirsty Lemon will be selling some flavored local lemonade and did we mention it's 0g of sugar?? Big Mamma's Desserts will be there and will have the most delicious desserts from strawberry crunch cakes to Bread and banana puddings! 

Just on the other side of 6th St., check out the mini car show where Old School City will be presenting classic 1930's cars for viewing and you can also shop their merch!



Join the Tempe Community Arts team for a hands-on activity where you'll learn how to repurpose paper waste into beautiful, hand-rolled beads! This eco-friendly workshop will teach you the art of wrapping, shaping, and sealing paper to create unique beads that can be strung into a colorful bracelet. Perfect for all ages, this creative experience offers a fun way to explore recycling while making a one-of-a-kind accessory.

Barber Battle Match Rounds at the November 2nd Sundays





The Downtown Tempe Barber Battle CONTINUES in a high-energy, bracket-style competition where local barbers go head-to-head in categories like Mullet, Fade, and Freestyle! This exciting showdown will be showcased at each 2nd Sundays on Mill leading up to the Semifinals and Finals at the 2025 Juneteenth Block Party:

  • Match Rounds: November 10 & January 12
  • Quarterfinals: February 9 & April 13
  • Semifinals & Finals: Juneteenth Block Party on June 14, 2025

Catch the Quarterfinals on 6th Street & Mill Ave, where you will also find the ladies of 40 Plus Double Dutch Club jumpin' and vibin' to live mixes from a Furious Styles DJ! They will be showing off their skills, as well as, teaching you how to double dutch!

We’re giving back!! Downtown Tempe teamed up with The City of Tempe Community Health & Human Services, the City of Chandler and the Beyond the Shop/Confess Project to bring you a FREE Mental Health Advocacy training and mixer for barbers and beauticians.
