We hope you will join Thomas "Breeze" Marcus and Dwayne Manuel, the artists behind the newly finished mural on the south facing exterior wall of the 201 Ash Parking Garage, for a walkthrough explanation of the pieces of the mural.

Walk will begin at 8:30am Friday morning.

This mural will give us a look through time to The O’odham, comprising the Tohono O’odham (Desert People) and the Akimel O’odham (River People), who have lived in the Sonoran Desert region for thousands of years. The mural will also include hints to additional neighboring Indigenous tribes such as the Piipaash (also known as the Maricopa, who first came to the area from western Arizona near the Colorado river a few centuries ago), as well as the Yaqui or Yoeme who came here in the early 1900s and are the reason the town of Guadalupe exists today. Afterward we will head over to the 100 Mill Building (maybe grab some Press Coffee!) to view The Vault, an art gallery experience of DTA Event pieces.

The Vault is a free pop-up gallery, open to the public, featuring a collection of artwork by diverse artists who have participated in Downtown Tempe’s events. It offers a space for the community to appreciate the creativity and talent from artists across Arizona.

Currently located at 100 Mill, Tempe, AZ 85281. Open 8AM – 5PM
