Julia Bullock, Soprano John Arida, Piano

“The formidable young American soprano Julia Bullock...is one of the strongest American actor-singers to emerge in recent years.” So writes Alex Ross in The New Yorker reviewing John Adams’s me opera “Girls of the Golden West” which received its première performances at the San Francisco Opera this season. The New York Times hails her as “an impressive fast-rising soprano...poised for a significant career.” 

Ms. Bullock has sung with the London Symphony Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic among many others. She is winner of the Naumburg International Vocal Competition and the Young Concert Artists International Auditions to name but a few. 
Her recital ranges from Schubert, Barber and Fauré to Billie Holiday and Nina Simone. Her accompanist is John Arida who is on the Juilliard School staff, specializing in opera and art song.
