Benjamin Yats directs the ASU World Percussion Ensemble in rhythms drawn from Africa, the Middle East, India, the Caribbean and South America. In addition to ensemble performances, students in this class learn mainly through oral tradition. By learning in the traditional way, the students in the Ensemble gain personal insights into the rich heritage and ethnicity of drumming cultures.
