Artist Statement

Miah Weaver is an artist who mainly works with painting, drawing, and mixed media. By using popular themes such as sexuality, gender and mythology, Weaver reflects on the closely related subjects of archive and memory. Her paintings often refers to pop and mass culture. Using written and drawn symbols, a world where the underrepresented are appreciated, is created. Her main inspirations include cult classic films and ancient folklore.
