5 Tips for Surthriving at Summer Ends

Tag: BlogEvents

We know, we know...you've been to a couple of music festivals this summer and you know what to do (rolling eyes). If you have attended several music festivals, you know that they're all different and offer unique experiences. We want the Summer Ends Music Festival to be the highlight of your summer music festival season, so we've put together a few tips that will not only help you survive the festival weekend, but ultimately thrive (dare I say surthrive?)!

1. If you fail to plan, you're planning to fail.

Plan what bands and artists you want to see...duh! But also plan the logistics of your day(s) and the entire weekend if necessary. How are you going to get to Downtown Tempe -- are you driving & parking in a garage, are you hopping on the light rail, or relying on Uber? Planning your transportation to and from the venue es muy importante! Identify parking options prior to arriving as well as pick-up and drop-off locations that won't be congested. If you're staying in a local hotel, allow yourself plenty of time to walk to Tempe Beach Park, stop and take some amazing photos, and flood your Snapchat story ; )

2. Bring cash or plan to withdrawal onsite.

Not every music festival is equipped with cash withdrawal facilities. Luckily, Summer Ends Music Festival will have ATMs onsite. What do you need cash for if you already have your tickets? Food, drinks, and miscellaneous costs such as band t-shirts and festival merchandise. Also, don't forget a little extra for emergencies that might pop up, such as a cab home or a late night meal.

3. H20 is your BFF.

While Downtown Tempe is certainly an urban oasis, we are still situated in the desert. Most music festivals occur during the summer months, so you might be used to the sunshine. However, we all know that summers in the valley are on a whole other level. Don't let the late date in September fool you...it will be just as important for you to hydrate then as it was in the middle of July, especially if you plan on consuming alcoholic beverages. Summer Ends doesn't want dehydration to ruin anyone's festival experience and will have a FREE Hydration Station to ensure that doesn't happen.

4. Lock it up.

Don't be the majority of music festival goers that often regret not getting a locker. You don't want to be the friend who loses their shirt, can't find their phone, etc. Just go ahead and reserve your locker ahead of time. I promise it will make your festival experience so much more convenient. Let's be real...you can't surthrive without a locker. It gives you the freedom to scoop up your favorite band merch without having to carry it around all day, the ability to store some extras that might come in handy (comfy shoes or an extra shirt), and the overall safety of keeping your most prized possessions locked up.

5. Have fun, fun, and more FUN!

If you're like me, music is a big part of your life. Music festivals can often be life sustaining experiences. It's not so much the portable toilets and long hours in the sun that you enjoy, but experiencing your favorite artists alongside thousands of your closest sweaty and passionate friends. Music festivals are perfect opportunities to let loose, enjoy live music and just LIVE in the moment.

Check out Summer Ends Music Festival to make your plans, reserve your locker, and get all the deets about this exciting festival weekend coming up in Downtown Tempe!
